Purchasing Manager

​DESIRED PROFILE

As ptw Shipyard is working on luxury superyachts, suitable applicants for this position will have experience in supplier management, purchasing and contracting of services, as well as a good knowledge of the Superyacht Industry.

Reporting directly to the CEO.

We are currently looking for skilled, dedicated and like-minded individuals to join our office team, the selected person will be responsible of the management, supervision and continuous improvement of the Purchasing Department and all the warehouse areas.

​PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate must have at least 3 - 5 years of proven experience in a similar position.

​MAIN ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management, supervision and continuous improvement of the purchasing department and warehouse.
  • Suppliers search, approval and management. Ensuring positive suppliers and strong Industry relationships.
  • Purchasing of materials and contracting of services.
  • Assure that all the purchase are done at the best price, with the desired quality and in the required time.
  • Negotiate rates and prices with suppliers to improve the company’s profit.
  • Supervision of claims/warranties with suppliers.
  • Carry out reporting activities for the area.
  • Management of the Purchasing module in the ERP software.
  • Planning investments in tools, equipment and facilities.
  • Define, implement and revise purchasing and warehouse management policies and guidelines.
  • Training and development of area personnel. Mentor less experienced team members.
  • Assure the compliance with the waste management regulations
  • Safety and quality liaison with prevention consulting company.
  • Supervise and manage the company quality procedures.
  • Supervision and maintenance of installations and equipment.
  • Search and management of internship students.
  • Providing support to the CEO.
  • Comply with the project schedule. Be accustomed to working under pressure with deadlines and excellent results.
  • Follow the rules, regulations and safety procedures described by the company.
  • Maintain a clean work area that ensures safe work practices and supports a professional work environment with high quality standards.

​SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Leadership, teamwork and empathy skills.
  • With good interpersonal skills to establish a trusting relationship with the suppliers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding negotiation skills. Professionalism in dealing with all levels of management and staff.
  • Working with autonomy and problem solving.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts.
  • Continuous improvement and innovation.

​SOFTWARE

Used to work with ERP business management software.

Office package (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point).

​LANGUAGES

Spanish, and a high level of English (spoken and written). Other languages would be appreciated.

​TRAINING

Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering or related field. Experience as a purchasing manager or in a similar position.

​LOCATION

Tarragona - Spain.

​TYPE OF CONTRACT AND SALARY

Permanent contract.

Full time.

Competitive salary package and 30 days paid vacation days.
