TPA and Inward processing are terms used to describe a customs control procedure that allows a vessel temporary permission to dock in the EU for repairs and maintenance, without being subject to paying 21% VAT. The exemption is limited to a small number of EU countries and only available in authorized shipyards.
As a rule, inward processing applies to works and equipment purchased for any yacht that has a non-EU flag and non-EU owning company or owner.
It is essential that all TPA invoicing and services comply fully with Spanish fiscal and customs requirements and are overseen by an approved administrator, who must also provide the necessary reports to fiscal authorities.
ptw Shipyard are fully authorised to offer Inward Processing and will liaise between yacht management teams and suppliers to ensure that the TPA is carried out smoothly and correctly.

Structural modifications in order to install new ...
Structural modifications in order to install new larger pantograph foldable swimming platform.
Making structural modifications to a superyacht's platform can be a complex process that requires careful planning, engineering, and execution. Here are some general steps and considerations that may be involved:
🔵 Viability study with a naval architect.
A naval architect or marine engineer should be consulted to assess the feasibility of the proposed modifications and ensure that they meet both structural safety standards and class regulations.
🔵 Design and engineering.
Based on the naval architect's assessment, modifications to the yacht's platform can be designed and engineered, taking considering factors such as stability, weight distribution, and structural integrity.
🔵 Construction.
Once the modifications have been designed, they can be constructed. This may involve adding or removing sections of the yacht's hull or superstructure, strengthening existing structural elements, or installing new equipment or machinery. All this has been designed by the engineers arranging the required drawings that allow manufacturing and work preparation as less time consuming as possible.
🔵 Testing and sea trials.
Once the modifications have been completed, the yacht should undergo rigorous DYE or scanning testing and sea trials to ensure that all the requirements have been achieved.
🔵 Class certification.
All structural modifications have to be stamped and approved by the classification society of the yacht to ensure that it meets all safety and regulatory standards.
Some additional considerations when modifying a superyacht's platform include the impact on the yacht's performance, handling, and stability, as well as any changes to the interior layout or systems that may be required. It is also important to ensure that the modifications are in line with the owner's vision and that they enhance the yacht's overall functionality and value.
